The silvery shimmer of the water's surface, the flight of hundreds of thousands of starlings darkening the sky she sees on the shores of the Nordic Sea... fascinate her and produce almost hypnotic emotions that she expresses in her various pieces. The work thus "captures" a feeling, a sensation, as if suspended, the perception of time intensifies, giving certain pieces a vibratory dimension.
Anja Madsen Pernot's work is extremely delicate, made from fragile materials - paper has been her favourite material for several years - and requires an infinite amount of time, which the artist speaks of as meditation.
Anja Madsen Pernot's works - installations, murals, sculptures - are based on the skills that she has learnt, reminiscent of the techniques and aesthetic objectives of the decorative arts.
